DYANGO
Born in 1996 in Hoorn and raised in an environment with little affinity for Hip Hop, DYANGO taught himself what it means to follow your own path and become an independent artist.
This was quite a challenge for him growing up in a monocultural environment. He struggled for a long time with societal and social expectations that felt like obligations in order to survive. At the same time, he felt that something in the world wasn’t quite right—something that made him restless, but that he couldn’t fully grasp. This inspired him at a young age to start writing poetry and rap.

After a turbulent high school period and being placed out of home, he still managed to earn his HAVO diploma and began a college education (HBO) in 2013. At school, he discovered that he learned best by doing. He didn’t know exactly what he wanted to do, but he did know he needed money. That’s how he ended up in construction.
During these years, he learned a lot about people, the importance of enjoying your work and earning money, guiding others, and above all—growing older without following your heart. He struggled during this time with his mental well-being and felt like he didn’t belong anywhere.

In 2018, he decided to pick up writing again. From then on, his life changed. He not only worked 50 hours a week for an employer, but also spent every evening from 7 PM until at least midnight writing or working in the studio for himself. He began listening again to his first Hip Hop inspirations like Tupac, Eminem, DMX, Missy Elliott, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, 50 Cent, THC, Negativ, and Winne; and new inspirations such as Joey Bada$$, J Cole, Mach-Hommy, Kendrick Lamar, Griselda Boys, $KEER&BOO$, Dookie, SKAV, and Berry.
This marked the beginning of his journey as an artist.
​​After his first English release "All Yours" in 2020, a long research period of discovering, networking, learning and most of all a lot of collaborations followed. During this period the focus was on developing his own sound by learning to produce, mix and expand his lyrical skills.
In the years that followed, pursuing his dreams to work with his inspirations and idols was the mission. He started developing a debut EP with established Dutch and Belgian artists such as $KEER&BOO$, Berry and Dookie in 2023. He released this Dutch-language EP "LIEVER NIET AFHANKELYK VAN" at the end of 2024. A project that reflects the path DYANGO has taken with raw, pounding productions and many collaborations. In between, he has performed more than eighty shows in Paradiso, AFAS LIVE and various festivals, with which DYANGO has developed himself into a seasoned artist with a strong image and a lot of experience in all aspects of being an artist. Our mission is focused on togetherness, respect, passion and growth. With these motivations, this project was created. The goal is to create a harmonious environment with others where you can shamelessly be yourself, make the music you want to hear most and give something valuable back to the world.
Since he became active in music, he has not only been on the road solo, but has also always had a good friend as a sparring partner named tays . Together, the men have been on a path full of discoveries, challenges, falls and rises since 2020. Thanks to tays in particular, a large number of stage opportunities in Friesland and Groningen came DYANGO's way. From 2022 onwards, they will be an unbreakable duo on stage with tays in the lead and DYANGO as MC on the DJ decks and ad-libs. In addition, they are both active in Wallplug , a music and art collective from Hoorn with a passion for culture, art and the free spirit.
All collaborations that DYANGO has done are in the context of the above-mentioned keywords: solidarity, respect, passion and growth. Without all these risks and challenges, this would not be a reality. The collaborations with the bigger names on his debut EP came about by adhering to these keywords. The passion brought him to his idols in Limburg, the respect ensured the solidarity with which he was received and the growth that he went through brought that respect back to him.
